Restaurant Review - It's Greek to Me

  • Posted on

Let me preface this review by admitting that I am 100% biased when it comes to the restaurant I'm going to review - It's Greek to Me in Catalina, Arizona. Mary and I have been eating here almost every week over the last six years and we not only love the food, but we have become good friends with the family who owns and runs the restaurant.

The restaurant is an easy 15 minute drive from either of our Oro Valley homes, and it's well worth the drive.

We've tried a good portion of the menu and have never had anything we don't like. We almost always start off with a salad - the Greek salad and the spinach salad are so good - made with fresh ingredients and generous portions. Speaking of portions, they are so big that we almost always split and entree and have more than enough to eat.

While we love everything that David and Kaitlyn prepare, we are especially fond of their fish. I've never had fish cooked so perfectly every time. And the rice and vegetables that accompany the fish are so good, I could make a complete meal out of them. If they have Chilean Seabass, don't pass it up. It will literally melt in your mouth. And Kaitlyn's desserts are sensational. We usually don't have room for dessert after our meal, but occasionally we just can't resist getting something to go.

The restaurant operates with a small staff - mostly family members - so you will need reservations, especially on the weekends. And they are closed on Sunday and Monday.
